Tracy Curtis, Founder and President
Tracy
has been in the television and film industry for as long as she can remember.
From childhood through her college years, Tracy spent countless hours at the side of her Emmy award-winning producer/director father, the late Dan Curtis. Tracy worked extensively in all aspects of production on numerous projects, including the groundbreaking mini-series “War and Remembrance” and “Dark Shadows”.
Tracy earned her B.A. from UCLA, after which she worked with TV executives at Lorimar Entertainment and later as a script analyst at Universal. Continuing her education, she earned her M.F.A. in Film Production from USC School of Cinema-Television, where her student film, “Eddie Five Fingers, “ featuring Michelle Williams, went on to win the CINE Golden Eagle Award.
After film school, Tracy moved into post-production, working in editorial on such projects as “Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead,” “Bastard Out of Carolina” and Rodger’s & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.” She went on to edit a number of TV series, including the hit dramas “Judging Amy”, “Joan of Arcadia” and “Close To Home,” as well as numerous independent films.
As an editor, Tracy worked countless hours honing actors’ filmed performances in post-production. But she missed actually working with the actors to craft their performances and put their best image forward. It was the desire to work directly with actors that led Tracy to become a talent agent.
A natural at agenting, Tracy became the Director of On-Camera Talent at Marla Dell Talent in San Francisco, representing adults and children in both commercial and theatrical divisions. Her immediate success as an agent led to the launch of her own agency, The Talent House, SF, where she worked with high-profile clients such as Sony, Wells Fargo, IBM, Sprint, Nokia, McDonalds and Macy’s.
Propelled by her commercial success at The Talent House, SF, Tracy moved into theatrical representation, taking her business to Los Angeles, where she focuses exclusively on the television and film industry. The creation of The Talent House, LA, has transformed a longtime dream into an exciting, vibrant reality.
The agency’s mission is to foster new relationships and cultivate the careers of emerging artists and comedic talent. Ms. Curtis’ years of experience in TV and film give her a unique vision of what it takes to make an impact in front of the camera, enabling her to recognize talent and build careers as only a true industry insider can.
